Ten-year insurance

This is insurance which is designed to pre-finance damage repair within a ten-year period. It enables the user to proceed with the reimbursement or completion of all repairs covered by the ten-year guarantee without the need to wait for a legal decision on the responsibilities of each party. Consequently, the insurer turns the insurance into a mandatory responsibility in order to recover the sum paid to the project owner, according to the incumbent responsibilities of each builder who participated in the act of construction. This insurance is taken out by construction professionals, and is mandatory. (Article L111-28 of the Building and Housing Code)
