The future cannot be predicted, but it can be prepared for. By helping students in their education and offering them guidance, we are preparing for our businesses of tomorrow. That's why it's important to develop business school relationships.

Informing middle and high school students about the sectors of activity and trades allows them to have more information for the choice of their orientation. Thanks to this, they can confirm their choice or discover new vocations.

The development of relations between schools and businesses is an exchange of knowledge. In addition, they give students and teachers the opportunity to discover or rediscover industrial sectors and trades.

Various awareness actions

These actions are intended to develop the interest of middle and high school students to help them in their project or their choice of direction. Nearly a hundred actions are organised everywhere in France:

    • Visits to companies or exhibitions,
    • Professional interventions in classrooms,
    • Competition.

The School-Business week, for example, was born from the desire to bring the educational world closer to the business world. This is to prepare the integration of young people into the world of work. This week has been organised since 2000 in partnership with the MEDEF. Its purpose is to enable high school and college students to discover the world of business. This week of discovery allows students to get informed and have a clearer vision of how a company works.

Integration of STUDENTS in the company

Once his/her vocation is chosen, a student may, during his/her training, integrate into a company through an internship or with an apprenticeship contract.

These two formulas are often mandatory for graduation and provided for in the student's teaching programme. They allow him/her to put into practice the knowledge acquired in class. The duration and the periodicity vary according to the training followed or the establishment.

These immersions within companies are good ways to ease their integration into working life and become aware of the positive values of the company. They give the opportunity to the student to apply the topics covered during these courses.

Benefits for the business

Although the benefits to students require no proof, the companies are still a little reluctant to take in a student. After a few difficult years, however, apprenticeships have increased by 1.9% compared to 2015.

The integration of a student, however, brings to the company additional labour at an attractive cost. Indeed a apprenticeship contract, for example, will be paid between 25% and 78% of the minimum wage. Subsidies are also available to promote this type of contract.

The student also takes a fresh look at the organisation and work of the company. He/she can give an outside opinion and bring his/her knowledge especially on the new ways of working and the new tools. For the company and the student, this can become a real win/win relationship.

For example, Locabri has recruited several people following internships and/or apprenticeship contracts. The last recruitment was in January 2017 for a buyer position.
